Wine & Gourmet Festival promotes Bulgarian wine and cuisine as well as develops wine, culinary and cultural tourism. In celebration of the coming spring, wine producers present their vintage wines in the unique Revival atmosphere of the restaurants in the Old Town and the restaurateurs choose the best dishes for them. In 2017 31 participants – 19 wineries and 12 leading culinary enthusiasts participated in the event and was visited by over 7 thousand Plovdiv citizens and visitors of the city.
The fourth edition of “Wine and gourmet” is coming – 05 – 06.05.2018 year. The opening of the spring wine season will take place on 5 May at 12:00 o’clock in the heart of the Old Town – bar “The Stables”, accompanied by the rich musical program of Brass-band Plovdiv, which will invite the visitors to enjoy the exceptional tasting tour, combining history, culture, wine and gourmet.
This year 18 of the best Bulgarian wine producers and over 12 chefs and gourmet specialists will prepare incredible combinations that you cannot resist. Tasting starts at 12:00 o’clock and lasts until 19:00. In these two days of the festival visitors can get acquainted with the history of Plovdiv and the culture of wine and food.
Anyone who wishes to enjoy the wine can purchase token carnets that are sold in front of or in every official location. Each token is entitled to one tasting. Glasses engraved with the logo of the festival are offered along with tokens. Culinary temptations are offered at prices between 1 BGN and 5 BGN at each of the locations and the tokens are in packages:
4 tokens – 2 BGN
12 tokens – 6 BGN
Glas with 8 tokens – 8 BGN
“The Spring Wine Night” is the gala dinner, featuring the awards of the Expert Committee for “The Most Suitable Combination of Wine and Food” of the restaurants and winemakers participating in the event.
The Tourism Council of Plovdiv and the Municipality of Plovdiv organize the “Wine and Gourmet” Festival, in active cooperation with the Old Plovdiv Municipal Institute and the University of Food Technologies – Plovdiv, professional high schools and universities, catering companies and all participants in the wine business, as well as institutions related to culture and art in the city.
